Bolsonaro Criticizes The Decision in Argentina and Says Abortion Will Never Be Approved in Brazil

President says he regrets 'deeply for the lives of the children'

President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) criticized, on Wednesday (30), the decision of the Argentine Senate that gave women the legal right to decide on abortion.

"I deeply regret the lives of Argentine children, now subject to being cut out from their mothers' wombs with the consent of the State", published the Brazilian leader in his social networks. Bolsonaro also said that, as long as depending on his government, abortion will never be approved in the country.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Brazilian chancellor, Ernesto Araújo, also spoke out against the decision.

Without mentioning Argentina, the Minister of Foreign Relations stated that "Brazil will remain at the forefront of the pro-life movement and in the defense of the helpless, no matter how many countries legalize the barbarism of indiscriminate abortion, disguised as 'reproductive health' or 'social rights' ".

After a session that lasted 12 hours, the Argentine Senate approved, early this Wednesday (30), the right of women to opt for an abortion until the 14th week of pregnancy. The historical decision had 38 votes in favor and 29 against, in addition to 1 abstention.
