The Ministry of Health recommended that people who come from the UK to Brazil with symptoms of Covid-19 stay ten days in isolation after the onset of symptoms.
The health ministry recommends isolation for people from the European country because it recently identified a new variant of the novel coronavirus that is up to 70% more transmissible.
The emergency guidelines include monitoring and tracking contacts of passengers and crew members who arrive in Brazil by flights from the United Kingdom, or who have recently been in the country.
To this end, health agents will maintain contact with passengers and crew to monitor health conditions and direct them to health care, as well as health surveillance, to adopt Covid-19 prevention and control measures.
Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) had already announced on Monday evening (21) that it will start inspecting flights from the United Kingdom, in addition to imposing some restrictions on passengers coming from the country that land at Cumbica (SP) and Tom Jobim (RJ) airports.
