President Jair Bolsonaro greeted and took pictures with supporters without a mask at a gathering in New York this Tuesday, even after a member of his delegation, Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga, had a confirmed coronavirus infection.
Queiroga received the test result on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities and members of the delegation consulted by Folha. The entire team that would travel took tests before boarding the flight back to Brazil, as determined by Anvisa.
According to people involved in the trip, who were interviewed anonymously, the president himself informed Queiroga of the test result. As a result, the minister had to stay at the hotel in New York, where he is in isolation.
