FROM SÃO PAULO
Facebook deleted on Friday morning a post made by Folha on its official page on the social network (facebook.com/folhadesp).
The post referred to a protest that was occurring at the Porto Alegre City Council (RS). The protest was led by the Bloco de Luta pelo Transporte Público, a group comprised of several organizations that demand free transportation in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul.
The demonstrators, who camped for eight days and left the City Council yesterday morning, took pictures of themselves naked before leaving and posted them on Facebook.
After an article on the subject was published on Folha's website, the demonstrators' picture and the link to the article were posted on Facebook at 3:40 pm on Thursday.
The post was deleted on Friday morning, and the journalist who made it had her Facebook account suspended for 24 hours.
The same content was posted on Folha's page on Google + -- a rival social network that of Facebook -- at 3:44 on Thursday and was not deleted.
Contacted by Folha, Facebook said it will analyze the case, but hasn't answered yet.
