A four star hotel with 80 rooms will be inaugurated this Thursday (20) in the boarding area of terminal 3 at Guarulhos airport (Greater São Paulo).

The target audience are passengers connecting on international flights. Since it is located inside the boarding area, only passengers will be able to use it and check-in will require a passport and boarding pass.

Rates are pricey but standard. A period of three hours in a single room will cost R$390 (US$ 112); a double room, R$ 435 (US$ 125). Six hour (R$ 490 and R$ 535, respectively; US$ 141 and US$ 154, respectively), 12 hour (R$ 650 and R$ 695; US$ 187 and US$ 200) and daily (R$ 800 -US$231- for a single and R$ 845 -US$ 245- for a double) options are also available.

The rooms are each 78 square-feet. The cost includes a buffet with beverages (except alcoholic), access to the VIP area and a wifi connection.

Roberto Bertino, president of Nobile Hotels, the company managing the new hotel, says that he negotiates with the airline companies so that they reserve the rooms for VIP passengers.

The banner will be Tryp, from the Wyndham Group (owner of the Ramada chain, for example). The investment to build the hotel amounted to R$ 50 millions (US$ 14 millions).

The airport, the busiest in the country, receives close to 50 thousand passengers a month connecting on international flights, according to GRU airport dealership.

It will be the first hotel inside of terminal 3, which handles 80 percent of the airport's international flights. An external five star hotel attached to the terminal is in the works for the end of 2016.
