President Michel Temer is preparing a series of measures for companies to speed up the creation of jobs and economic recovery - flagship of the government's election campaign for 2018.
The benefits package for the private sector is aimed at industries such as construction, electronics and chemicals.
The government has decided to focus on industries which are large employers, with the purpose of speeding up the effects of recovery until March, when Temer intends to determine the candidate who will receive his legacy for the elections.
President's advisors are convinced that employment is the main population indicator regarding Brazil's economic situation. The government expects the creation of 1 million new jobs as a result of the labor reform, due to more flexible and favorable conditions for employers.
In order to promote more hiring, government is adopting measures that benefit sectors not affected by the recovery of consumption. Such initiatives would encounter no resistance in Congress.
Civil construction, the largest employing industry in the country, was the first to receive the benefits.
The Ministry of Transport authorized small local construction companies to repair roads. The measure is expected to inject R$ 4.8 billion (US$ 1.46 billion) in economy and, according to calculations by the sector, it will immediately create approximately 106,000 new direct and indirect jobs.
