FROM SÃO PAULO

A film about the life of Pelé began filming this week in Rio, according to "The Hollywood Reporter" magazine. The publication reported that Seu Jorge and Rodrigo Santoro are involved in the production.
The film, written and directed by brothers Michael and Jeff Zimbalist, will recount the path of Pelé out of poverty to lead Brazil to the World Cup title in 1958, the first of the five victories for the National Team.
Vincent D'Onofrio (of "Born to Kill") is part of the cast, playing Brazilian coach Vicente Feola. Mexican actor Diego Boneta will play the role of José, a rival player and the one responsible for giving him the nickname Pelé when they were kids.
Seu Jorge is cast as Dondinho, father of the Brazilian superstar, and actor Colm Meaney fills the role of the coach from Sweden, which hosted and lost the final of that World Cup to Brazil. The role of Rodrigo Santoro has yet to be revealed.
