Most of the fans of Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo and Santos who live in São Paulo do not know any players' names of their team.
Research conducted by Datafolha between February 8 and 9 points out that the greatest lack of knowledge is among São Paulo´s team fans.
In response to the request to name three players who work in the prefered team, 60% of them admitted not knowing and another 9% answered, but did not match any names, totaling 69% of respondents who did not know team athletes.
Fans of other clubs considered big in the State did not do much better. Among the Palmeiras' fans, the lack of knowledge reaches 64%.
It is more than the 57% of Santos´s supporters and 54% of Corinthians' fans, added those who did not know or got wrong all the answers.
The greatest lack of knowledge is among the women interviewed and varies among those who declared themselves to be supporters of São Paulo (89%) and Corinthians (74%).
In addition, 86% of the women supporters of Palmeiras failed to name any players or got the names wrong.
Among the male public, the lowest rate of knowledge was also of the São Paulo supporters. Less than half (49%) were able to name someone in the group trained by Rogério Ceni. Among the Corinthians' supporters, the correct answers were 67% and, among the Palmeiras fans, 58%.
Although the Paulista Championship is already under way, the club rosters are still changing. Still, the four teams hold first-string players from last season, even if they are not marked in the memory of most of the fans interviewed by Datafolha.
Cássio and Fernando Prass, two goalkeepers, are the champions of popularity, according to the Datafolha poll. The Corinthians goalkeeper was remembered by 32% of the interviewees who mentioned team athletes. The Palmeiras goalkeeper, by 27%
The most mentioned by the fans of Santos and São Paulo were, respectively, Ricardo Oliveira (22%) and Rodrigo Caio (17%).
Among those mistakenly mentioned, the most remembered was Rogério Ceni, the former goalkeeper who retired in 2015 and is now São Paulo's coach, with 7% of the mentions of club fans interviewed by Datafolha.
