FROM BRASÍLIA

Brazil's campaign in it's World Cup expectations at home ended amid boos.

From the announcement of the team, there were shouts and whistles of disapproval for Felipão and Fred.

In general, fans that filled the stadium kept the routine of singing the national anthem and took it easy on the players before the game.

Neymar and David Luiz were always cheered when they appeared on the stadium screens. Jô lifted the crowd when he was announced - in what seemed more a criticism of Fred than a compliment to the reserve player.

Up to the second goal by the Netherlands, 16 minutes into the first half, fans were still trying the "I am Brazilian ..." and "It's the five-time champion".

From then there was excitement in rare forays by the team, but the corners were absent.

And the "olé" against Brazil seen in Germany's rout at Mineirão reappeared when the Dutch took the ball.

In a game with the most dismayed fans of the seven held in Brasilia, the crowd was heard clearly on the final whistle deriding players as they left the field.

Thos who endured preferred to stay until the end to applaud the Netherlands during the awards ceremony and victory lap for third place.
