"Already Done" Says Fred About His Future on the National Team

FROM SÃO PAULO

"Already done." That's how the striker Fred spoke about his future on the national team.

Along with coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, he was the one who was singled out in the booing in this Saturday's match, even coming off the bench. He also spent the entire World Cup being criticized for not moving around much on the field.

"Much is made about this in Brazil. When you win, they create a God. When you lose, they blame one or two. The blame is for all these results, collectively", he said.

Turning 31 in October, Fred does not intend to wear the jersey of the national team, but he still thinks he can play at a high level at Fluminense, his club.

"Today they spoke a lot that I didn't hustle, but if I return to my club and score many goals, there will be talk that they didn't pass the ball to me", said the player.

Asked by Folha if he thought they were not passing the ball to him, Fred fumed: "You understand what I said, didn't you? The press will say that I was not getting the ball if I score goals at Fluminense".

Also about tactics, he answered with a simple "no" when asked if he felt too isolated on the attack in Felipão's scheme.

No player wanted to openly criticize the coach or the tactical scheme. Hernanes, who has not had much opportunity, just laughed when asked if he was annoyed to see the team without an option to touch the ball in the middle.

"I'm not talking about tactics. I was always here to help."

FOREIGN COACH

Right-back Daniel Alves, who ceased being a starter during the World Cup, said the eventual hiring of a foreign coach for CBF could "be an addition" and would not be "any downgrade ".

"I'm not campaigning for any coach to come, but I think it would be any downgrade because they contribute things differently to our football", he said.

"I think the big trend is that you can sometimes recognize that someone is better than you. It isi not a downgrade recognizing that someone is better than you, whether in a profession like football or in any other profession", he added.

BOOING

Players said they deserved to leave the field under boos from the crowd in this Saturday's setback against the Netherlands.

"It is clear that the crowd would boo for the loss", William said. "We were saddened by the defeat. We players are the ones that feel this most."

Always charismatic, defender David Luiz also spoke of sorrow.

"We had boos for a team that wanted to rebuild. We took a goal early and the bad thoughts turned to mind", he said.

Goalkeeper Júlio César already said, "he will go down in history for the bad side." "A goalkeeper allowing 14 goals in the World Cup is complicated."
