Sightseeing in Paranoá Lake is One of the Main Attractions in Brasilia, a World Cup City

Learn more about the main tourist attractions of Brasilia, one of the 12 World Cup host cities.

Since working hours may change on game days, it is recommended to confirm schedule before planning.

See hotel openings as well for the period (June 12 to July 13). Some of them are already sold out on a few dates.

As such, we advise against last minute bookings.FIFA's website shows other options for accommodation.

1 - City Park (Sarah Kubitschek)
Preferred location in Brasilia to relax and play sports on weekends.
Asa Sul (entrance at Eixo Monumental Axis). Open daily from 5pm to midnight.

2 - Three Powers Square
Located at the beginning of the Eixo Monumental, it houses the three government powers. There you can see Panteão da Liberdade, Mastro da Bandeira and Espaço Lúcio Costa, where there is a giant Brasilia scale map.

3 - Lake Paranoá
Located around the East of Brasilia. It is a meeting point for boats, jet skis, boats and people who practice sailing, rowing and kite surfing.

4 - Chapel Don Bosco
The first temple in the city was built in 1957. From the monument you have a beautiful view of Brasilia.

5 - JK Memorial
Museum dedicated to the founder of Brasilia, Juscelino Kubitschek.
Eixo Monumental Oeste, Cruzeiro Square, Sargento,website. Tuesday from 9am to 6pm. Wednesday from 9am to 5pm. Thursday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm. US$ 4.5.

6 - Metropolitan Cathedral
Another Niemeyer work, made of glass with 70m in diameter.
Esplanada dos Ministerios, lote 12, website. Monday from 8am to 5pm. Tuesday to Sunday, from 8am to 6pm (visits are not allowed during masses). Free.

7 - Alvorada Palace
It is the official residence of the President of the Republic. Open to visits once a week. It was designed by Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated on June 30, 1958.

8 - Pontão in South Lake C
This area includes six restaurants overlooking the Paranoá Lake.
