Judge André Nabarrete Neto, of the TRF-3 (Federal Regional Court of the 3rd region), overturned on Tuesday (29) the injunction which suspended the right of former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to security guards and drivers paid by the Federal Governement. With the decision, Lula's benefits will be maintained.

Earlier, President Michel Temer had ordered the enforcement of the legal decision which determined immediate suspension of the benefits to which Lula was entitled.

The decision resulted from a request from lawyer Rubens Gatti Nunes, national coordinator of the party Movimento Brasil Livre - MBL (Free Brazil Movement).

FINE

The Court of Appeals of Paraná determined on Monday (28) the imposition of a daily fine of R$ 500 thousand (US$ 134.20 thousand) against CUT and PT. The Court understood such entities violated the injunction which determined they should leave the area surrounding the Federal Police in Curitiba (PR), where the former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is under arrest.

The fine had already been established on April 13th, but an agreement signed between protesters and authorities, a few days later, ensured indemnities would be suspended.

On May 19, a court official went to the location, at the behest of judge Dara Tontini, and found that protesters were still there. The judge then determined compliance with the fine from this day. The amounts totaled R$ 6 million (US$ 1.61 million) for each entity on Wednesday (30).

The state president of PT-PR, Dr. Rosinha, reported she will appeal the decision at the Court of Appeals of Paraná.
