Almost two months after the series of attacks that left 32 dead in a probable retaliation to the murder of a military police officer, a new episode with similar characteristics happened in the early hours of Monday (5) in the greater São Paulo.

Three men were shot in front of a bar in Osasco, five hours after a military police officer was killed in a robbery in the same neighbourhood of Padroeira, known for being a recurrent stage for murders.

The two points are about 800 metres (half mile) away from each other.

The trio that was attacked remained in hospital and there is no information if there was risk of death. One of the victims is the bar owner, wounded with a bullet in his back. Another was shot in the chest, and the third was shot three times: in his thigh and in the stomach twice.

The bar was closed when the three neighbours drank beer on the pavement.

According to witnesses heard by the police, the criminals came on a motorcycle and shot without saying anything.

The dead policeman, Anderson dos Santos Silva from the 33rd battalion, in Carapicuíba (greater São Paulo) worked in the police force for about a year and a half and had finished work around 7 pm on Sunday (4).

Silva died with three shots: two in the chest and one in his belly. The criminals took his motorcycle.

From August 8 to August 13, 32 people were killed in a series of attacks in Osasco and Barueri followed by the death of a military police officer. All the crimes are being investigated.
