Created in 1995, initially with the name Folha Online, it is the first real-time newspaper in Portuguese. Its objectives are the creation, production and development of online journalistic content, in addition to services, with emphasis on areas of interactivity.
Today, it publishes about 160 news items per day. Users can read up to five texts per month for free. After, they are asked to create an account, which gives them access to five more.
Its commitment is to produce content on the internet with the same quality as Folha, following the editorial principles adopted by the newspaper: pluralism, non-partisanship, critical and independent journalism.
The Folha website has an average audience of 28 million individual visitors and 200 million page views per month. It also produces content for mobile devices.
