Bolsonaro Says Brazil Will Face Supply Problems Next Year

With the energy crisis in China, agribusiness faces greater difficulty in buying pesticides and fertilizers

President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) stated this Thursday (7) that Brazil will face "supply problems" next year. According to the agent, the possibility of a shortage of products in 2022 is related to the energy crisis in China.

"I'm going to warn you a year before, fertilizers: due to the energy crisis, China is starting to produce less fertilizer. It has already increased in price, it will increase more and there will be a shortage. Every five dishes of food in the world, one leaves Brazil. We are going to have supply problems next year," declared Bolsonaro, during a ceremony at the Planalto Palace. Also according to Bolsonaro, given the scenario, the SAE (Secretariat of Strategic Affairs) is concluding the elaboration of an emergency plan for fertilizers.
