The federal court of accounts (TCU) will monitor the administrative, operational, financial, and budgetary actions of the process

Brasília

The TCU (Federal Court of Accounts) will monitor the transition process from the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government to that of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). For this, a committee will be created composed of ministers and auditors, from the publication of an ordinance. The group will take effect from this Tuesday (1st) and will last for 90 days. It will be coordinated by the acting president of the Federal Court of Accounts, Minister Bruno Dantas, and will be linked to a reporting process by Minister Antonio Anastasia, who is responsible for analyzing issues involving the government.

Also part of the group will be the rapporteur of the presidency's accounts for the year 2023, Minister Vital do Rego, and the one for 2022, Minister Jorge de Oliveira. According to the text, the court will monitor the administrative, operational, financial, and budgetary actions of the government transition process at the federal level. As a justification, the document alleges that the court of accounts has, among its powers, to ensure the legality, legitimacy, and economy of the acts of management of the powers of the Union.
