"President Jair Bolsonaro has just signed a provisional measure that amends the Marco Civil da Internet, reinforcing the rights and guarantees of Internet users and combating the arbitrary and unreasonable removal of accounts, profiles, and content by providers," the government publication said.
The text amends the Marco Civil da Internet to provide, among other points, the requirement of "just cause and motivation" to delete content, in addition to canceling or suspending the functionalities of accounts or profiles maintained on social networks, according to a statement from the Secretariat.
