The request by the Deputy Attorney General (PGR) of the Republic, Lindôra Araújo, to archive the main investigation fronts arising from the work of the Covid parliamentary investigation committee (CPI) was seen as a victory for Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the reelection campaign and as the burial of the parliamentary committee. of inquiry.
Lindôra's demonstration, pointed out by the opposition as the "iron front man" of the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, should free Bolsonaro from his five main accusations in the CPI's final report. Among them, being related to the increase in deaths in the pandemic, in addition to crimes of malfeasance, charlatanism, irregular use of funds and violation of health measures. The manifestations of the PGR will be analyzed by the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
Two charges against the president are still pending in court. Regarding one of them, which deals with the suspicion that Bolsonaro incited the population to disrespect health measures, Lindôra asked for an extension with the aim of promoting new steps.
