Top Presidential Candidates Overlook China in Government Plan

Asian giant is Brazil's biggest trading partner

Brazil's largest trading partner and a centerpiece in the chess game between global powers, China is a notable absence in the foreign policy of the main Brazilian presidential candidates.

The Asian giant was left out of the government plans presented by the leading candidates in the dispute according to the most recent survey by Datafolha: Lula (PT), Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Ciro Gomes (PDT), and Simone Tebet (MDB).

In his program, Lula, the leader of the polls, talks about working for the construction of a new global order, and Bolsonaro, in second place, mentions Asia only when he states that the enrichment of the Chinese population has been putting pressure on the economic growth of Western countries.

However, neither they nor the other candidates, with the exception of Sofia Manzano (PCB), have mentioned China directly in their plans.
