Datafolha: Lula Goes to 47% and Boosts Chance of Victory in 1st Round

PT returned to the level of 50% of valid votes, the threshold to win on October 2

Ten days before the first round of the presidential elections, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) oscillated two points up, reached 47%, and has a lead of 14 points over Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who remained at 33%. Therefore, the possibility of the PT candidate winning in the first round has increased.

The stability with positive oscillation for the Workers' Party candidate in the scenarios of one week to date, as measured by the most recent survey by Datafolha, will intensify the arm wrestling between the two leading campaigns of a race whose decision in the first round can occur on the basis of an eye for an eye.

Tied for third place are Ciro Gomes (PDT), who fluctuated from 8% to 7%, and Simone Tebet (MDB), who continues with 5%. Soraya Thronicke (União Brasil) fluctuated from 2% to 1%, remaining tied at the margin limit with Tebet. The margin of error is more or less two percentage points in this survey, carried out from Tuesday (20) to this Thursday (22).

The institute surveyed 6,754 people in 343 cities, and the poll commissioned by Folha and TV Globo is registered under number BR-04180/2022 at the Supreme Electoral Court.
