The PL ( Liberal Party) endorsed this Tuesday (22) the coup-mongering speech by President Jair Bolsonaro and decided to ask the TSE (Supreme Electoral Court), even without presenting evidence of fraud, the invalidation of votes deposited in ballot boxes accusing "malfunction".

According to the party, more than 279,300 electronic ballot boxes used in the runoff election "presented chronic problems of irreparable non-compliance in their functioning". For the current elections, the Electoral Court has made available around 577,000 pieces of equipment.

The questioned ballot boxes were also used in the first round when the PL elected the largest group of federal deputies in the next legislature — it will have 99 seats in the Chamber.

In a note, Electoral Transparency Brazil, which monitored the electoral process, said it was not possible to question only part of the ballot boxes used and only in the runoff election.
