A crater opened up in the asphalt on the Tietê waterfront, near the Piqueri bridge, in São Paulo, on Tuesday morning (1st), right next to the subway line 6-orange work.
According to Sabesp, the water and waste management company, a sewage pipe broke during the passage of equipment that perforates the subway tunnels. Nobody was hurt. The emergence of the hole caused trouble.
The local and central lanes, towards the Ayrton Senna highway, were closed to vehicles. The expressway was eventually reopened in the afternoon, but the location will remain closed indefinitely. With traffic problems, the rotation of vehicles was suspended throughout the city.
The Secretary of Metropolitan Transport, Paulo Galli, said the rupture of a sewer gallery was the reason for the flooding and the opening of the crater.
