Many of São Paulo Residents Have already Abandoned The Mask

Governor Doria will announce that the use of protection will no longer be necessary in open-air areas

São Paulo

Governor João Doria (PSDB) will end the mandatory use of mask on the streets this Wednesday (9) throughout the state of São Paulo. However, even before the measure was announced, some people from São Paulo had already dispensed with safety equipment in the capital.

On Tuesday, Folha was in three bustling points of the city: Ibirapuera Park, March 25th Street and Paulista Avenue.

People complain that the mask causes discomfort and heat. They also claim that use while playing sports is uncomfortable.

At the park, most arrive with the mask on their face, but as soon as the physical activity begins, the protection is dispensed and carried on the chin or hangs on the arm.

On Rua 25 de Março, downtown, most customers kept their masks on. However, many street vendors ignored the use of masks.

Avenida Paulista was the place where there were the largest number of people wearing masks. Some, however, used it incorrectly or on the chin.
