Brazil Registers 749 New Deaths from Coronavirus; Total Deaths Is 13,149

Country has 188,974 confirmed cases of Covid-19; Ceará overtook RJ and occupies the second place

The Ministry of Health released data on Wednesday (13), showing that Brazil registered 749 new deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Altogether, there are 13,149 deaths confirmed by the disease.

The country also registered 11,385 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Brazil and has a total of 188,974 cases.

The state of São Paulo has the highest number of cases in the country (51,097). Ceará surpassed Rio de Janeiro this Wednesday (13th), with 19,156 cases in total, and ranks second on the list. In Rio, there are 18,728.

The record is 881 deaths recorded in just one day, on Tuesday (12). On Friday (8) there were 751 new deaths by Covid-19 and, on Saturday (9), 730 new deaths.

Last week, the country rose to a new level and started registering more than 600 new deaths per day.

The official number of deaths is growing more in Brazil than in Europe. In Brazil, this increase was 6.5% per day on Friday (8), for example. In an equivalent day of the epidemic in Italy, it grew to 3.1%. Two weeks ago, the growth rate was similar.

On 8 May, the pace was 2.5% in France. In the United Kingdom, 3%. In the USA, 8.2%. In the state of São Paulo, 4.6%.
