Brazil registered 881 new Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, a new daily record, according to the Ministry of Health. Altogether, there are 12,400 deaths from the disease.

The previous record was 751 new deaths from Covid-19 on Friday (8). The following day, Saturday (9), there were 730 new deaths, and the country surpassed the mark of 10,000 deaths from the disease.

Last week, there were several days in a row with more than 600 new deaths per day - 600 on Tuesday (5), 615 on Wednesday (6), and 610 on Thursday (7).

On Monday (11), 396 new deaths by Covid-19 were registered, a smaller number than in previous days. Still, the ministry itself says that a reduction is expected on weekends because there are reduced health teams in states and municipalities.

The country also registered 9,258 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Brazil and has a total of 177,589 cases.

According to experts, the real numbers should be higher, since there is a low supply of tests in the country and underreporting.
