After Covid-19 diagnosis, Bolsonaro Takes Hydroxychloroquine on Video and Asks: "I Trust It, How about You?"

On social media, the president said he started to feel better after starting treatment with the drug, which has no proven effectiveness

President Jair Bolsonaro shared on Tuesday (7), a video on social media in which he took a dose of hydroxychloroquine and said that "with certainty" the treatment for the novel coronavirus "is working."

"I trust hydroxychloroquine, how about you?" he said.

The chief executive was diagnosed with Coronavirus on Tuesday. Bolsonaro said he felt ok on Sunday, horrible on Monday and today much better due to the medication.

"We know that nowadays there are other remedies that can help fight the coronavirus, we know that none of them are proven scientific efficacy, but one more person that is working," he said in reference to himself right after having a glass of water to swallow the medicine.

In the video, Bolsonaro said that he is on his third dose of the medicine.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the president has been in tune with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, defending the use of hydroxychloroquine associated with azithromycin as a solution for the advancement of the new coronavirus.

No scientific study to date, however, has confirmed the drug's effectiveness, which can cause serious harm.
