There were 1,271 deaths recorded by Covid-19 in Brazil this Tuesday (30), and 37,997 new cases. The country thus reaches 59,656 deaths from the new coronavirus and 1,408,485 cases.

The data comes from an unprecedented collaboration between the news media Folha, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo, G1, and UOL. They gather and disclose the numbers related to the pandemic of the novel coronavirus. The information is collected directly from the state Health Departments.

São Paulo recorded the highest number of deaths this Tuesday, 365, and 6,235 new cases. The state already has 14,763 deaths from the new coronavirus and 281,380 infections by the diagnosed Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Brazil has a rate of about 28.5 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants. The United States, which has the highest absolute number of deaths, and the United Kingdom, both ahead of Brazil in the pandemic (that is, they started to suffer from the problem before), have 39 and 65.9 deaths for every 100 thousand inhabitants, respectively.
