Brazil's Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, said that there are "one, two or three" options for laboratories that develop vaccines against Covid-19 with sufficient quantity and a good schedule to meet Brazil's needs.

Pazuello also said that 15 million doses of vaccine should arrive in the country in early 2021.

The amount represents half of what the ministry had said it would receive in the first month of 2021. On several occasions, technicians from the portfolio and from Fiocruz stated that 30 million doses would be available in January.

The agreement signed for R$ 1.9 billion provides 100 million doses in the first half.

"In January and February, 15 million doses of this technological order from AstraZeneca and Oxford with Fiocruz are already arriving. And in the first half, we will reach one hundred million doses. In the second half, with the transferred technology ready, we will produce up to 160 million doses with Fiocruz. So there are 260 million doses".
