As predicted by Salvador and the City of Rio de Janeiro, the first doses of vaccines from different manufacturers against the coronavirus have been depleted in Teresina, Campo Grande and Cuiabá. Stocks will likely be depleted by Sunday in at least six other capitals.
In Campo Grande, vaccination with the first doses needed to be terminated as early as last Saturday (13) and reached the age group of 80 years or older. Just over 33 thousand people were contemplated. The continuation now depends on the delivery of new doses by the Ministry of Health.
In Cuiabá, the vaccination campaignalso stopped due to lack of doses. By the end of the week, the city government is prioritizing the application only in bedridden elderly people until the immunizations run out. So far, 23,518 have been immunized, including health professionals and elderly people aged 85 and over.
“We are not going to change the planning [of the vaccination] for now, but we paused now because we are without a vaccine to expand to other groups. More vaccines are expected to arrive next week, ” said Flavia Guimarães, manager of the city's Epidemiological Surveillance.
