Brazil Suffers Worst Week of The Pandemic, with More than 12 Thousand Covid-19 Deaths

Country completes 16 consecutive days of records in the moving average of deaths and 53 with an average above 1,000 daily deaths

For the 16th consecutive day, Brazil hit the moving average of deaths by Covid, which reached 1,832 deaths per day in the last seven days. The country had its most lethal week in the pandemic, with 12,795 deaths (8) from Monday until this Sunday (14).

The previous weekly toll was recorded at 10,482 deaths.

This week, for the first time in the pandemic, the country had daily records of over 2,000 deaths.

The country is experiencing its worst moment in the pandemic, with no glimpse of a better situation in the near future. This Sunday, the country completed 16 consecutive days of records in the seven-day moving average of deaths and 53 straight days with an average above 1,000 daily deaths.

Brazil recorded 1,111 deaths and 43,781 cases of Covid on Sunday. As a result, the country has reached 278,327 deaths and 11,483,031 infections due to the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.
