Carlos Bolsonaro Employed Woman Who Was Once A Phantom Employee in Another Company

Son of Bolsonaro was 18 years old at the time and new to politics

Carlos Bolsonaro, Rio de Janeiro councilperson and son of president Jair Bolsonaro, kept a domestic worker on his government employee rolls for 18 years. The woman, who was already once a phantom employee for military man in a telecom company, worked as an employee who did anything for the Bolsonaro family, including helping with domestic affairs.

While working as a member of Carlos Bolsonaro's' cabinet, Cileide Barbosa Mendes, 43, took care of a house (as well as lived there) that in the past acted as the office of Jair Bolsonaro. She appears to have opened three companies that used the Jair Bolsonaro office as its address. She also worked as a phantom employee in place of an army Lieutenant Colonel—ex-husband of Bolsonaro's second wife—who could not maintain work in his name.

In 2001, after Cileide had worked as a nanny for Ana Cristina Valle's child (Bolsonaro's second wife and mother of his son Renan), a recently-elected Carlos Bolsonaro nominated her to his cabinet.

At the time, Carlos was only 18 years old. At the beginning of this year, soon after his father assumed the presidency, he cleaned out his cabinet. In January and February, he let go of nine employees, including Cileide. She had worked for Carlos for 18 years, and her most recent monthly salary was R$ 7.483 ($ 1,896).

Today she works as a surgical instrumentalist and still lives in the house that once served as Jair Bolsonaro's office. The house, located in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, is still occupied in part by Carlos' team.
