The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sergio Moro, authorized this Wednesday (19) to send the National Public Security Force to Ceará.
Moro responded to the request for increased security made by the state governor, Camilo Santana (PT), who faces a mutiny by the Military Police.
Since Tuesday night (18), PMs from Ceará have been protesting against the government's proposed wage restructuring. This Wednesday, Senator Cid Gomes (PDT) was shot after trying to invade a barracks occupied by police.
In a letter, Moro said that he had received information from Camilo "about the walled movement of the state police" and a request to "send the National Public Security Force to collaborate with state security forces to guarantee law and order".
