Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Congress on Wednesday (1st) approved in two rounds a Proposed Amendment to the Constitution that postpones the municipal elections from October to November this year.
The text, which had already passed through the Senate, now goes for promulgation in a session of Congress that should take place this Thursday (2).
The PEC postpones the first round of municipal elections from October 4 to November 15. The second round, where there is one, goes from October 25 to November 29.
To be approved in the House, the proposal needed the favorable vote of three-fifths of the 513 deputies (308 votes).
