Justice Suspends Investigation against YouTuber Who Called Bolsonaro a Genocidist

Initiated by councilman Carlos Bolsonaro; youtuber claims to be hounded by the far right

On Thursday (18), a court suspended the investigation into YouTuber and digital influencer Felipe Neto for an alleged crime under the National Security Law. After referring to President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) as a genocidist in a post on his social media, he was summoned.

The judge accepted the arguments presented by Felipe Neto's defense and understood that the Police Department for the Repression of Computer Crimes of the State of Rio de Janeiro (DRCI) does not have a legal mandate to investigate the alleged crimes.

Last week, councilman Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ), son of the president, announced that he had filed a criminal complaint against the YouTuber.

Moreover, the decision signed byJudge Gisele Guida de Faria sees "flagrant illegality" in Carlos Bolsonaro' actions because he "is not a member of the Public Ministry, nor a military officer responsible for internal security, nor is he a Minister of Justice."
