TCU members (Federal Court of Accounts) were scandalized by the manipulation of data in the report on Covid-19 that is being processed by the body. According to President Jair Bolsonaro, the document would question 50% of the records of death by Covid-19 in the country – which is a lie.
Bolsonaro made the statement in conversation with supporters on the way out of the Palácio da Alvorada this Monday morning (7). And he said more: he stated that he had access to the report and that he had already passed the information on to three journalists he trusted.
The speeches were recorded and released on video.
"First hand there for you. It's not mine. It's from the Federal Court of Accounts. Questioning the number of deaths last year by Covid. And there the final report is not conclusive, but around 50% of deaths by Covid last year were not by Covid, according to the Federal Court of Accounts," says Bolsonaro in conversation with supporters.
