Ministers Think Bolsonaro Should Skip the Meeting with Governors to Avoid Creating a Platform for Doria

Amid the institutional crisis, palace auxiliaries say the meeting would be counterproductive and could end up in a clash with adversaries

Aides to Jair Bolsonaro believe that the president should refuse a meeting called by governors this week to avoid giving them the spotlight.

The ministers think a meeting between the president and the heads of state executives would be counterproductive and would only serve to provide a platform for opponents.

Since the beginning of his government, Bolsonaro has been involved in clashes with state managers. With the pandemic and the dispute over taxes, the relationship has worsened.

The Palácio do Planalto has yet to officially respond to the letter sent by the Forum of Governors, according to the president of the board, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB-DF).
