Datafolha: Lula Leads Bolsonaro by 21 Points

PT has 48% against 27% of the current president; in valid votes, advantage is greater

Former president Lula (PT) has a 21 percentage point advantage over the current president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and leads the dispute with 48% of voting intentions in the first round, compared to 27% for his main opponent, points out Datafolha.

The third place, Ciro Gomes (PDT), has 7%. Other candidates, such as Senator Simone Tebet (MDB), do not exceed 2%.

Bolsonaro, who was at 26% in the previous poll in March, saw the distance to the former president increase which was 17 points. Lula scored 43% at the time.

If only valid votes are considered (without blanks and nulls), the PT registers 54%, and Bolsonaro gets 30%. To win without a second round, the candidate needs 50% of the valid votes plus one.

The institute surveyed 2,556 voters over the age of 16 in 181 cities across the country on Wednesday (25) and Thursday (26). The margin of error is two points, plus or minus.

In an eventual second round, the difference between the two also grew. It went from 21 points in the last survey (55% to 34%) to 25 points (58% to 33%). 54% would never vote for Bolsonaro, and 33% reject Lula.

In the spontaneous poll, in which the names of the candidates are not presented, the PT increased from 30% to 38%; Bolsonaro fluctuated from 23% to 22%.
