The model Isabella Menin, 26, from São Paulo, wrote her name in history this Tuesday (25), in Jakarta, Indonesia.

She accomplished two feats in one fell swoop when she won for Brazil, for the first time, the title of Miss Grand International, one of the biggest beauty pageants on the planet.

In addition to the unprecedented achievement, Isabella also broke the country's 51-year fast without crowns in the pageant World, as the last Brazilian victory took place in 1971, with the carioca doctor Lúcia Petterle, in the Miss World.

In one of her moments on stage, the Brazilian won over the jury with her speech about peace.

Recited in English and in the local Indonesian language, it emphasized the terror of the death of children during wars and ended by calling for the "power of love to always prevail over the love of power".

Crying tears of joy, Isabella was crowned by Vietnamese Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, the previous winner in 2021.
