In the first press conference of the final preparation phase for the World Cup, which starts on Sunday (20), right-back Danilo, 31, stated that the favoritism of the Brazilian team is undeniable.
He said he built that impression both on the accumulated results in recent years and on comments from players from other countries.
"We accept that responsibility. It is undeniable that we are favorites", he said this Tuesday (15th), after training in Turin, Italy, at the Juventus sports complex, where the team will stay until Saturday when they leave for Qatar.
"It's undeniable by the numbers we've had, the winning streak, the names we have, and the way we've been playing", declared Danilo.
Danilo has been playing for the Italian team since 2019 and among his teammates are two athletes from Brazil's first opponent in the Cup, the Serbians Kostic (wing) and Vlahovic (center forward).
Brazil's premiere game in the championship will be on Thursday (24), at 4 pm (Brasília standard time).
