With the elections in the United States yet to be finalized, President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) again said that he supports Republican Donald Trump and criticized Democrat Joe Biden.
Bolsonaro denied interfering in the American election and accused Barack Obama's former vice-president precisely of interfering in Brazil's internal affairs for criticizing the Brazilian government's environmental policy.
"Just [to] complement here: the Democratic candidate, on two occasions, talked about the Amazon. Is that what we want for Brazil? Yes, there was interference from the outside," said the president to supporters in front of the Presidential Palace, in statements transmitted by a Bolsonaro site.
During the first and chaotic presidential debate in the USA, Biden said that "the rainforest in Brazil is being destroyed." At the time, Bolsonaro classified the speech as regrettable.
The Brazilian leader reaffirmed that he has a "clear opinion" about the American election, has a good relationship with Trump, and expects the Republican's reelection. "Brazil will continue to be Brazil. Without interfering in anything, even because who are we to interfere?", he said.
