Set designers were surprised by the quality, aesthetic and artistry of the Olympic opening ceremony.

"I found it extremely beautiful, very tastefully done", says Miguel Falabella, an actor and theater director.

"The start with the elastic, the part about Brazil's origins, with the indigenous and the Portuguese, the projections. Everything was very well done."

Theater director José Possi Neto said he was surprised by the ceremony.

"I knew it would be a beautiful show, but I think it is fantastic for the people to have such a competent and magnificent performance during such a controversial time for Brazil", says Possi.

Charles Moeller, who directed "Hair" and "Avenue Q", was attending a rehearsal for a new show, but said he really enjoyed the few images he came across.

"The 14-Bis was really nice. Gisele [Bündchen], incredible. Paulinho [da Viola], very moving. Everything was well received and full of excitement.
