Bolsonarist Coup-Mongering Had Military Participation from the Beginning of the Government

Members of the Armed Forces took part to establish and perpetuate suspicions regarding the electoral system

Brasília

All the attacks against the electoral system in the Bolsonaro government have had some participation by active or reserve members of the Armed Forces.

This finding is possible when analyzing chapter by chapter the escalation of attacks on the ballot boxes sponsored by the defeated president in this year's elections: from the search for unsupported information used by Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to attack the electronic electoral system in his live streamings, going through the unprecedented performance in testing the ballot boxes in the elections, to the final report and the subsequent public notes that try to keep alive the unfounded suspicion of fraud in the more radical Bolsonarist supporters.

As Folha showed, data obtained via the Access to Information Law with the Ministry of Defense itself and the TSE (Supreme Electoral Court) reveal that the military only started to question the electronic voting system under Bolsonaro.

There were 25 years of silence and agreement with the model, which is an example worldwide, before the realization of supposed weaknesses that culminated in questions to the TSE before the election and, later on, in the report and the notes in which supposed technicians of the Armed Forces state that the possibility of fraud can not be altogether ruled out.
