Isabel Cristina was killed 40 years ago, in Juiz de Fora (MG), by a man who worked on assembling a wardrobe in her home and tried to rape her.

Born on July 29, 1962, in Barbacena ( MG) and the daughter of a very devout family, she had moved to Juiz de Fora to take a prep course to try to get into university to study medicine.

Isabel Cristina's ordeal was recognized by Pope Francis in October 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic prevented the ceremony from being held before.
