Artist had 8.6 million followers and a successful but controversial career

Funk MC Kevin Nascimento Bueno, 23, known as MC Kevin, died after falling from the 11th floor of a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, in the early evening of this Sunday (16).

The Fire Department reported that it revealed an occurrence at around 6:15 pm on Sunday. According to the Barra da Tijuca fire department, the singer's body was taken to the Miguel Couto hospital, in Gávea, in the south of the city, in "serious condition."

Known for hits like "Cavalo de Troia", "Favelado Vencedor" and "O Menino Encantou a Quebrada," Kevin had 8.6 million followers on instagram and 537 thousand on YouTube. The artist had already partnered with other artists of the genre such as MC Guimê and Igu.

Born in Vila Ede, a neighborhood in the north of São Paulo, he had recently released the latest album "Fênix."

Kevin was not only known for his artwork, but also for getting into trouble. In January, he became one of the most talked about subjects on social media after making a series of videos on Instagram stating that "now everything is sexism" and minimizing harassment situations.
