The Yanomami woman admitted to a hospital in Boa Vista (RR) with severe malnutrition, the mother of two girls also malnourished, admitted to the Hospital da Criança Santo Antônio, died this Friday (27), in yet another evidence of the size of the health crisis in the largest indigenous territory in Brazil.
The information about the woman's death was confirmed in the report by the general director of Hospital da Criança, Francinete Rodrigues.
The family's story was told by Folha in an article published on Wednesday (25).
The reality of the mother, daughters, and father –who became the children's sole caretaker at the hospital– is the same as that of hundreds of other Yanomami victims of the lack of health care in their territory.
