Suspect already had an arrest warrant for extortion through kidnapping

Thaynã Higor, 25, a three-time world champion in jiu-jitsu, was shot in the head in front of a restaurant in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo. An elderly man was also shot and died in the hospital.

According to the Chief of police Alex Mendonça do Nascimento, the suspect was disoriented during the deposition and did not inform the motive for the crime.

According to the police record, Thaynã was waiting for transport in the Boqueirão neighborhood when the shooter approached and fired the shot. He died on the spot.

The suspect was restrained and assaulted by the people on the street, who had to be contained by the policemen.

According to the Chief of police, there was already an arrest warrant against the suspect for extortion through kidnapping.
