Alongside Olaf Scholz, the president defends a club against war, blames Russia for the conflict, and asks China for mediation

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) defended, this Monday (30), the creation of a group of countries to negotiate the end of the War in Ukraine, which completes one year on the next 24th. Brazil has no interest in sending ammunition to Ukraine because it does not want to have any part in the conflict, even if indirectly.

"We have to create another body, just as we created the G20 when the [economic] crisis of 2008 occurred," Lula said at a press conference. "We try to create, we create an ecological club and we create a club of people who will want to build peace on the planet".

The PT member also said that Brazil will not sell ammunition to Ukraine, denying the request made by Germany. "Brazil is not interested in passing on ammunition so that they can be used in the war between Ukraine and Russia. Brazil is a country of peace, our last dispute was the war in Paraguay. And, therefore, Brazil does not want to have any participation, even if indirect", he said.
