Leaked European bloc file expresses reservations over president's stance on Ukraine war and environmental issues

The European Union is concerned with Brazil's position in relation to the War in Ukraine and with the lack of fulfillment of obligations in the environmental area, indicates an official and confidential document that deals with the European bloc's relations with four emerging countries: Brazil, Chile, Nigeria and Kazakhstan.

If the "non-public information", as stated in the text, does not bring bombastic information, it is a glimpse of the backstage work of current diplomacy and traces a snapshot of how Brazil is seen by Europe at this moment. The document, obtained this Monday (24) by Folha, had its content initially released by the American news website Politico.

Despite the fact that European leaders are relieved with the election of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and with Brazil's return to the international scene —after four years of blackout under ex-president Jair Bolsonaro—, the text shows concern regarding the recent statements by the PT member.
