An Isolated Bolsonaro Calls for Pro-Government Demonstrations on September 7

President calls for the paper ballot again, while governors ask for a meeting to ease the tension of the crisis

Jair Bolsonaro continues to attack the Supreme Court and inflame his supporters, who are planning a September 7 pro-Bolsonaro demonstration.

Governors have warned Bolsonaro of the risk of inflaming the military police, and they asked for a truce and meeting to stop the institutional crisis.

In a speech on Friday, Bolsonaro referred to the impeachment request of Supreme Court justice Alexandre de Moraes, raising the tension between the branches of the government. On Monday (23), the president returned to promoting the paper ballot.

In an interview with Rádio Regional, of Eldorado (SP), Bolsonaro said again that he will participate in the pro-government events in São Paulo and Brasília, which will take place on Independence Day, and insisted on the suspicion of the electoral process.

"What is the soul of democracy? It's the vote. The people want, when voting, to be sure that their vote goes to João or Maria. They don't want half a dozen people in a secret room of people counting their votes," the president said.
